Casper the friendly Zombie Ghost.

Could not pass this up! The Tunnel under White Spar 89a/ FR54 has a plethora of tags by traveling artists/ hobos. Yoo-hoo Tombo, have you been here? The Flying Saucer is my favorite with the green beam of light shooting down, aiming for a cow probably.

I think Tombo is taking a week or two off from blogging...too bad -- those are fine graffiti, esp. the UFO. However, I'm trying to place this tunnel. Surely not the bridge over Granite Creek where the Montezuma turns into the White Spar?

Granny the tunnel is about 4 miles or so south of town under a hairpin turn. The turn off is not marked on the road, but I believe Board Creek is the drainage. Forest rd 54 runs next to it.
I have it marked on my Flickr map.

Haven't been here yet. Not sure why, I hike trail 260, which is within easy walking distance of here. I'll stop in for a peek next time i'm in that neck.

Thanks for the heads up. I believe GrannyJ mentioned it to me a while ago, but it was lost in the chaos of life. The reminders always help. :)

Tombo, had to verify a few things, and I'm glad I did. The tunnel is for Copper Creek to run under 89a, not Board Creek. The forest road is FR#53, not FR#54.
Being familiar with 260, you probably know where it ends on FR#53. The Tunnel is a couple hundy yards south from there.

This is also the location of the infamous feral dog attack on our group along time ago. The Feral Aussie Shepard Pack story
Reliving the attack the other day was like stepping into the Twilight Zone!
